Almost Three Inches Of Rain Yesterday
Nearly three inches of rain fell over Levin during yesterday and last evening, causing local flooding in various parts of the town. In the 24 hours from 7 a.m., on Wednesday to 7 a.m. this morning, 2.75 inches were 'recorded by Mr. H. Harvey, Senr., Cambridge Street, Levin.
This is considered to be the heaviest fall of , rain in any single day for many years. Farmers and market gardeners, however, will benefit greatly and with the promise of fine weather crops should make rapid progress. To date, 3.88 inches have fallen in February. Rain has fallen on eight days.
