Before the caucus opened, Mr. Holland explained that the meeting was a new departure. instead of holding a caucus of all 38 members, with a great deal of business packed into one day, the intention was to hold1 a number of indre intimate meetings in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland. The business to be transacted included consideration of events since Parliament went into recess and strategy for the coming year. Policy would: also be disctissed as a preliminary to the meeting of the party's policy committee.
