Received Tuesday, 7.20 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 8. Reports from Berlin irtdicate that the hau on road traffic tlirough the An,|.'o American Zones of Germany to tlu Russian Zone and to countries beyond, has been effectively imposed. The Daily Telegraph points out tha! tliis traffic, though not considerable has been cariying vital supplies fron Western Europe eastwards and its ces sati'on will inevitably increase the d i 1" ficulties the Russians are experienein^. in sustaining the economy of their zone The paper adds that it was only with great and perhaps excessive reluctanee that the Western Powers retaliated against the Berlin blockade which thi Russians instituted last.June. Thev waited until August before banftin^ railwav traffic passing through the Bt zone in either direction between th( Russian Zone and Western Europe aiu. they have waited until now before simiiarly banning road trafric. Other loopholes still exist but a British MiJitary Government offieial said in Berlin last night, that these will be dealt witM one by one until the counter-bloekade is as c-omplete as the Western Powers ean make it.
