CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 7. Today was the third hottest daj' and hottest February day since regulai recordings have been taken in Christchurch. About 2.45 p.m. the temperature at the Christchurch Magnetic 01.)servatory was 93.7 degrees and at the meterological office, Wigram Air Station, a temperature of 93.6 degrees was recorded about 2 p.m. Recoraing were started at the Magnetic Observa tory in 1905 and since then only two hotter days have been recorded. : The heat again set off automatic tiro alarms in several parts of the citv. Th.high temperature was recorded after u week in which the .temperature has averaged more than 81 degrees.
