Pacific Scientists Coming To Levin
Twenty overseas scientists who are at present attending the seventh Pacific Science Congress in Auckland will visit Levin on February 15. They will spend the day studying the flora and fauna of the Tararua foothills and also the native snails. The party, which will be accompanied by the assistant director of the Auckland Museum, Mr. A. B. Powell, is to arrive in Levin by bus about 11 a.ni. and proceed to the 'top of Flprida Road. They will be met ther.e by the president, Mr. I. D- Parsons, ari'd some 30 members of the Levin Native Flora Club, amorig them Mr. R. A. Prouse, who jhas made a very close study of I native snails and gathered a fine collection of them. Following a pPcnic lunch the visitors will be taken on excursions into the nearby foothills.
