WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. Bdlliant displays of aurorae in NeA^ Zealand are considered to be • highiv probable dnring the hext week. The Director of the Carter Observatory (Mr. L. L. Thomsen) said today them were at present some extremely active sunspots, there alreadv had been radic disturbance and there was a high probability that within tlie next fev.' davs there would be quite brilliant aurorae and general magnetic disturbances. The Post aiul Telegraph Departmejit reported this afternoon that there had been no interference with Ne^y-Zealand-telegraph eircuits out there had been a (listurb^ conditions on the frequencies being used for the Sydney radiotele phone serviee. This nrorning a radic blackput had occurred for an hour or so.
