MR. MICHAEL MULCAHY

With the death in Palmerston North on Monday of Mr, M. Mulcahy, Levin lost yet another well-known citizen. ' ; Mr. Mulcahy was born in Christchurch in 1882, being the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patric Mulcahy, of Mangatainoka. He spent the early part of his youth in Christchurch. When still quite yourig, his parents moved to Masterton, where he received his education. In 1917, he left New Zealand to serve with the armed forces overseas for two years, becoming a lance-corporal in the 1st Battalion of the Wellington Regiment. On his discharge he took up farming in Featherston before moving to Levin in 1929. Mr. Mulcahy was a keen member of the Levin Bowling Club and a' number of members were present at the funeral, which took place at Mangatainoka on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Miss N. Mulcahy. His only son, Pitot Ofiicer Cyril Mulcahy, was killed'.-in World War II.
