R.S.A. To Entertain W.I.

At the monthly general meeting of the Shannon branch of the Returned Services' Assoeiation last week, mention was made of the excellent gesture of the members of the Shannon Women's Institute for the past 29 years in calling together al] returned service personnel each Anzac Day and entertaining them at an Anzac dinner. It was pointed out that this had done much to keep the R.S.A. memibers tOjgetheH and foster a stTong- feeling of friendship between the two organisations. The ladies of the institute had also given much help in the war years in connection with farewelling members of the services prior to their departure overseas, and again when personnel were returning the ladies were there to welcome them home. This co-operation is greatly appreciated hy all R.S.A. members and it was unanimously decidea that a social function should be tendered. to members of the institute and their families, and that members of the R.S.A. and their families shouTd co-operate in making this function a great success. Arrangemmts were left in the hands of ihe entertainment committee, with the suggestion that the function be held some time in March.
