Cnristmas and New Years jsve revellers gave Levin Borough Council employees nb small gmount of work— in fact two threc-ton lorr'y loads, for that was what the Oxford Street sweepings represented. Congratulations on the prompt manner in • which the borough overseer, Mr ;E. Lycette, and his staif had tidied up . the mairi street on both these occasions were tendered by the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, and councillors at last night's meetirig of the council. The . men had . workad during the night ■ and by the f ollotving morning the streets were looking most tidy.
