Woman Attacked With Hammer
— ■** — AUCKLAND, Jan. 7. A married woman was attacked in a city street shortly after 11 a.m. today. The victim was Mrs. Rosa le Comte. Rhe was taken to the Auckland Hospital casualty department where she was treated for laeerations and diselxarged. lirs. le Comte was talking to a nxan oxi Ihe footpath , when she was strnck several blows on the head with a claw hammer. Sereamixig for help slxe managed to fend off some blows with , her handbag until two by-standers rushed to her aid. The police were called and ^ W9-U was later arrested and will appea? ih the Police Conrf on a charge of committing a'ssaixlt so as to cause actual bodily harm.
