The Christmas Rush
With only three days left in which to do Christmas shopping and post Christmas gifts, both shop assistants and P. and T. officials are having a busy time. People who have already done their shopping and poSted their letters, cards and parcels have shown commendable consideration for workers whose duties are heavy at this time of the year. 'Those people who have delayed their purchases will assist the business houses and the postal officials greatly if they complete their part before Christmas Eve. Both in the purchasing and sendmg of gifts, it is far more satisfactory for all joncerned if these matters are
attended to early. Gift parcels will reach friends in a miich better condition if a little more time , is spent in packing them. People intending to send tele- } grams and greetings will assist the operators if they lodge them as 'early as possible, and not wait . until the last few hours. Because of the huge volume of work, telegraph operators are on duty until a very late hour on Christmas Eve. Thoughtful consideration will not only ensure that telegrams reach their destination in good time, but will also assist tho operators to enjoy a happy Christmas.
