• DUNEDIN, Dee. 20. A now record price for New Zealand 'greasy wool was established at the lirst maiu flueee sale of the season in Dunedin today wlien a loeal nxill paid 81:]d per lb. for three bales of super comb Morino warp sold by Malvcrn Downs, Central Otago, This oclipsed-the previo us record of 81d paid for a Marlborough Merino elip at Christchurch last Wednesday. The selection in Dunedin today was mostiy of good style with large entries of hogget woois and ewe clips, mostiy shorn before lambing. Generally the wool opened up particularly weil, there boing alyiost an entirc absenco of dust, •ynJyui" v,ery few bales from Central and Xorlli Otago showing slight signs. Most ■ yf the botter class fine clips came from Central Otago with some exceptionally good linos of crossbred from the south. mills wero always in the market for the botter lines of line wools * and-.-. obtained most of these although they had strong competition from other sources, mostiy Contineutal while Bradford was fairly quiet. The maximum total of 30,000 bales, all new soasou's wool. was offered. There were tio passings and the .Jomt Organisation did not cottle into any part of the sale.
