Rotary Club's Final 1948 Luncheon
The Levin Rotary Club yesterday held its final weekly luncheon for this year. The guest speaker was Rev. G. B. Stote-Blandy, who outlined the religious and historical significance of Christmas in an appropriate and interesting ifcalk. A hearty vote of thanks, carried by acclamation, was aecorded him. During the meeting, the president; Dr. S. J. Thompson, referred to the fact that one of the charter or foundation members, Mr. J. C. Moodie, had retired from active i business and had, therefore, to re- 1 linquish his membership. He ex-j pressed regret that the club was ; losing Mr. Moodie and extended ! good wishes to him. Dr. Thomp- j son also mentioned that another 1 member, Mr. R. H. Long, would I shortly be making a visit to Aus- 1 tralia, and voiCed the hope that his trip would be a pleasant one. , One n'ew member, Mr. J.' E. Ful- j larton, was inducted by the presi- 1 deht. In closilig the proceedings, j Dr. Thompson extended the sea- j son's greetings to members and « reminded them that lunchebn meetings would recommence on JanUary 1*7.
