Successful Gymkhana At Levin
A very .■> successful gymkhaha •was held by the Horowhenua Pony Club jon the Levin Showgrounds on Saturday. The weather was fine 'and nearly '60 members Were pres'ent with th'eif pOhies. Sonfe' excellent competitions were seen 'and the standard of horsemanship was definitely encouraging. ' The Levin club managed to retain the 'Challenge Snield for most pbints 'in the gymkhana, beating Moutoa by 72 to 71. ' At the close of the proceedings the competi'tors entered in the • grand parade around ' the groiind and the display of ribbons was •very pleasing. Mr. G. E. Barber, president of the club, in congratulating Levin o'n retaining the shield, stated that a most enjoyable day was spent by all and that Moutoa Would be hard on Levin's heels in trying to win the shield next time. Mr. Barber thanked all those who had assisted in the gymkhana, fespecially the judge, Mr; Don Scott, of Aokautere, who had done excellent work all day.
