Mrs. Annie Simmons, Levin's centenarian, will celebrate her 102nd birthday on Sunday next, at the home of Mr. and 'Mrs. C. Simmons, 40 Durham Street. Dr. R. T. Wade has been appointed a senibr house surgeon for 1949 at Palmerston North Hospitai. He takes the place of Mr. D. S. P. Dickson Who has withdraWn his application. An Otaki and Porirua Trust Board scholarship has been awarded to a pupil of the Ohau School, Catherine Wehipeihana, ( daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tau Wehipeihana. Ngkt year she will b.e proceeding to the Te Wai Pounamu College, Christchurch,
