LOJNDOJN, Dee. o. Tlie British heavyweight champion, Bruce Woodcock, won the fight against the American heavyweight, Lee Sayoki, at the Harringay Sta'dium tonight. Savold was disqnalified in the fourth round for a f'oul blow. It was stated , before the fight that the winner.woukf probably get a chance at Joe Louis's j world title. ' ' ' v " ' The end did not meet with the crowd's approval. Tliey booed, whistled and cat-called and it was soine time before the decision could be announced. Savold, standing in the middle of the ring, appealed. There were tears in his eves as he watched Woodcock dragged to his eorner. ° The fateful punch was a right uppereut when the two boxers were in a elinch in the centre of the ring. Woodcock dropped to his knees in agony, and the referee, who had previously warned Savold to keep his 'punehes up, awarded Woodcock the fight without the sl'ightest hesitation. The referee, Mr. S. Russell, said he had no alternative but to disqualify Savold, because Woodcoek was lying, in agony on the can'vas. .Savold himseif said he was sure he did not deliver an illegal blow. The American forced the fight throughout and had Woodcock down for eight in the third round.
