November Road Deaths

Five people were killed m trairic accidents during' November, said the Minister of Transport (Hon. F. Halkett) yesterday. This is the l'owest death rate for November for seven years. Such a reduction in traffic fatalities was pleasing, particularly as the holiday season was approaching, but road de'aths for 1948 now totalled 171. As the ,Christmas-New Year holiday period was usually associated with an increase in traffic deaths which were doubly tragic at this time of year, Mr. Hackett urged all motorists to take, all possible care during the holidays.
