Big Entries For Marching Contests
Palmerston North Showgrounds will be the contesting ground for girls' marching teams from a wi'de area on Saturday, December 11, when an open championship will be held in conjunction with the, Manawatu Centre contest. Also to. be decided is the open contest for1 the Benson Challenge Shield, and ; four teams under the age of 14 1 ' years will take part in this. All the above are open to teams affiliated to the New Zealand 'Marching Association and the secretary of the Manawatu Centre, Mr. A. L. Dobson, of Levin, stated that this is perhaps the first occasion 'that a contest held iniPaimerston North has attracted such widesbread entries. '•
