WELLINGTON, Nov. 9. A Dominion-wide vehic.le testing e.ampaign wns startcd today. Transport I)epartment inspeclors wiii inspect cars and brakes will be tested i),y an ingenious devicey tlie Tapley brake tester. Tiiis device is attached to the car by the inspector who drives a short distanee, applies the brakes arul is alde to read their efliciencv from llie dial. Motorists tested will be given a brief report 011 their brakes' efficieney together with a pamphlet issued by tlie Department 011 braking ref|uire'ments, A green stieker bearing the New Zealand coal of arms will be aflfixed to the windsereen of tested vehieles so that double tests inay be avoided.
