New Marching Association Formed At Wanganui
At a meeting in Wanganui on Wednesday night a new marching association affiliated to the New Zealand Association was formed. Tributes were paid during the evening to the Manawatu Centre, to which the individual Wanganui teams had been affiliated, and also to the Horowhenua Association. In thanking Mr. W. R. Jack, of Levin, president of the Manawatu Centre, for the interest and help given the Wanganui teams, Mr. F. Gibbons said that at no time had tne hospitality they had enjoyed at Levin been equalled, and the Horowhenua Association could rest assured that Wanganui would be well represented at the opening day at Levin on" October 23. Present at the meeting were the; followihg: — President of the N.Z.M.A., Lieut.-Colonel G. O'Leary, O.B.E., chairman of the N.Z. exe-: eutive, Mr. G. Austad, New Zealand secretary, Mr. K. W. Kilpatrick, president and secretary of the Manawatu Centre, Messrs. W. R. Jack and A. L- Dobson, and representatives of the Horowhenua Association, Messrs. D. J. Convery and L. Cpieer.
