The Horowhenua fourth grade representatives were beaten but nct disgraced by the promising Wellington fifth grade- representafcivb team by 32 points to 8 in the cur.tain raiser to the North -South match at Athletic' Park, Wellington, on Saturday. Horowhenua worked hard and with fiery, smothering tactics, and often had Wellington in troubie. However, the fast home backs could not be checked. The scorers for Horowhenua were Clough and Lankshear, Cooke conVerting one try. For Wellington, Martin, creighton, Whiteman, Jowette, COle (2), McCarthy and Wright scored.
