Athletic Footballers Win Rowland Cup

The Athletic Footbail ClUbts junior tdam journeyed to Palmerston North on Saturday and won the Rowland Cup from Marlst. This cup is played for annuaiiy l5y the winners of the Horowhenua and Manawatu junior competitions, and this year Athletic beat Marist by 11 points to 8. It was a hard, fiery match, with both forwards and baeks working well. On the whole Athletic had the better of the game, especiaiiy in the rucks, which were hard and faSV. The visitors' points came from a converted try and two penalties, while Marist scored a try and a penalty. Athletic's try was secured by Waghorn, who dribbled the ball past the Marist defence and scored. Law converted. The penalties were kicked by B. McLennan and Law. Marlst's score and penalty were secured by O'Donald.
