Motor Camp Buildings

Plans and specifications having been submitted, authority to proceed with the construction' of a •kitchen block and conveniences at the Tasman Beach motor camp had been received from the Building Controller by the Otaki Borough Council. This was reported to the council on Wednesday night. The discussion which followed revealed that it was not intended •to close the Rangiuru Camp at present, but that the permit, having been approved, estimates could be obtained and everything would be in readiness to proceed when sqctions opposite the camp were sold. It was decided that tenders too1 called. Jlt was ' reported that a verbal application for the position of caretaker to the camp had already been made, and the overseer, Mr. B. R. Bell, -reported that the bank along the road had been built up and levelled off and fascined with manuka brush, while the sand removed had been used to widen the road up to the beach front.
