More Competition Successes To Levin

Large classes of dancing and singing pupils appeared on the stage of the Palmerston North Opera House last night on the third evening of the ManawatuCompetitions Society festival. On Friday night the judges _ and organisers will be busy deci'ding who will be in the two final, gala concerts on Saturday. Once again Levin entrants were successful. After gaining high commendation in ' three dancing competitions at the _ previous two evenings, John Elliott with 78 points took first place in the demicharacter dance for children under eight years of age. . Fleur Haley was highly com- • men'ded for her part in the demicharacter dance" for children between the ages of eight and ten. Faye KLrkbeck gained first place in the popular song competition for contestants between the ages of 18 and 21.
