Sports Area For Otaki

"COMPOSITE."

(To the Editor) Sir, — It is with pleasure that I, together with other ratepayers in the Otaki- borough, read of the proposal to secure an area of land to serve the town and vicinity as a sports area. I am sure the majority of the citizens will be wholeheartedly in favour of No 1. scheme as outlined by the Mayor. Otaki is trying to encourage industries to start in the borough to keep our young folk here, but we must at the same time give them grounds in which they can play their games and also invite other teams from adjacant towns to competition. Without grounds for this it means frustration to them- Otaki is growjng, and will grow, and we must look ahead now so that an adequate area is secured for the future recreation of the populace. Scheme No. 1. is the one to go for, but why not mahe the area larger than that suggested while land is nvailnble? — Yours. etc..

Otaki, August 15.
