Personal Mrs. R. Olsen, of Rangiuru, Otaki, was on Monday .conveyed to fhe Palmerston North Hospital. Miss P. Ralph, of Mill Road, Otaki, who has been in hospital, has been discharged, and has returned to her home. The passing of two of its oldest friends and supporters, Messrs. L. G. Lowry and H. Nicolson, was recorded by the Otaki Brass Band at its annual meeting last night. Mr. Lowry had- been patron and had always shown a keen interest in it, said the annual report. Mr. Nicolson had been connected with. the band from its inception and was a well-known figure in the bandroom. The passing of these two supporters had been a great loss to the band and the community. Second Marching Team A meeting of interested parents was held on Tuesday afternoon, when it was decided to form a committee to control the affairs of a second marching team, to be called "Tui's Intermediate." Mrs. C. Gordon was elected president and Mrs. B. Kendrick secretary. It was reported that a generous response had been made by the public to an appeal for donations. This waS considered to be encouraging. It was agreed that a plain and fancy dress ball be held in September, when the team will be presented. Tasman Beach Motor Camp The new motor camp at Tasman Beach was further discussed on Tuesday night, when members of the Otaki Commercial Association conferred with the works committee of the Otaki Borough Council. Buildings, water supply and roading were matters that were freely discussed, and it was jconsidered advisable to recommend that a deputation wait 011 the Building Controller. A fairly comprehensive plan for the lay-out of the camp was submitted by Mr. A. W. Buxton, and was the subject of favourable comment.
