There was a good attendance of members and friends at the AugUst meeting of the Ihakara Women's Institute. Mrs. Powell told about the demonstrations held there.The winners of the afternoon's competitions were: — Flowers: Mrs. Brooks 1, Mrs. Bowker 2, Miss Forsyth and Mrs. Hall 3 (equal) . Shrtib: Mrs. Stacey 1, Mrs. Doyle 2, Mesdames Hall and Haslock 3 (equal). yegetable: Mrs. jHaslock 1, Mrs. Hudson 2. Roints: Mrs. Butt 1, Mrs. Hudson 2, Mrs. Collett 3. Social competitions were won by Mesdames McLean and Lancaster. A dainty afternoon tea was seryed by the hostfesses, Mesdames Bqddy, Bdwker -arid Mitchells A biiing-and-buy stall, under the guidance of Mesdariies Malcolm and TayiOf, flourished.
