Rugby Union And Hui Mai Club's Protest
(To the Editor) Sir, — I find it most difficult to follow the Horowhenua Rugby Union's decision. in respect of Hui Mai's protest, reported in your issue last night. Consideration of the protest was held over to ascertain if the protesting club had complied with the rules by notifying the other club concerned, and this was found to be in order. When the matter is raised again for final decision one union member is reported to have said that the ruie is either right or wrong, but by their very actions the union has decr.eed that the rule is wrong. What I fail to understand is why this rule, which I presume is universal and must be observed by" all other clubs throughout New Zeaiand, does not have to be abided by in our own area. - It is reasonable to assume, therefore, thjit now the -union has lfiade this decision in respect of this particular rule, teams wiil be quite within their rights in wandering on to the grounds at any time they please. Yours etc., "NO CLUB BIAS." Levin, Aug. 11.
