Plunket Society Farewells Retiring Nurse
Attending the monthly meeting of the Levin Piunket Society's committee, the last before her retirement at the end of the present month, Miss E. L. Hight, who has Piunket nurse at Levin' for sorne time and has proved exceedpopular with mothers and children, was farewelled by memAt the conclusion of the business afternoon tea was 'dispensed and the president, Mrs. W. Smaill, on behalf of the committee, asked Miss Hight to accept a bedside lainp and posy in appreciation of her services. The attendance at the meeting was, very large, Mrs. Smaill occupying the chair. Mrs. D. Stewart was electefi senior vice-president, while' the following were appointed as executive committee: Mesdames W. : Smaill, L. J. Hunter, D. Stewart, A. , Sutton, J. Chapman, J. Todd and ; H. S. Walkley. An invitation was received from „ the Shannon sub-braneh for members. to attend a farewell fuiretion j to Miss Hight, nine accepting. 1 A letter 'was read from the town clerk, Mr. H. L. Jenkins, advising that the Levin Borough Council had made a grant of £10 to assist the society's work.
