Spieer. Highlight of the evening was the statue waltzing competition, the judges, Mr. and Mrs. J. Millard, awarding the prizes, a wallet, and a cup, saucer and plate, to Mr. Webb and partner, while a special prize, a box of chocolates, was won by Miss Smith, of Otaki. An extra highlight during the evening. was the j appearance of a guest artist, in the ; person of Mr. Roy Lester, who contributed several numbers with the orchesti'a. The art union, drawn under police supervision, resulted in the tea set going to Shannon, the lucky recipient being Miss Shirley Easton with ticket No. 1374. The association is busy now preparing for its,annual ball, which this year will take the form of a plain and fancy dress event.
