Two youths who had admitted j vandalism were punished to fit the j crime by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., in the Children's Court at New I Plymouth. Anniversary Recognised Recognising the 85th anniversary of the foundation of Otago Boys' High "School, Dunedin, which f ell on August 3, a group of old boys met at Str Andrew's Manse, Levin. Engaged in a variety of occupations, from dairy farming and prpfessions to various types of businesses, they were interested to meet Mr. O. J. Begg, M.A., now rector of Palmerston North Boys' High School. MrBegg's association with thg Otago Boys' High School as scholar and master covered a period of 40 years. The oldest old boy in the Horowhenua district had attended the sdhool from 1875 to 1878. When a School is Not When does a school qualify to be called a coilege, or doesn't the name make any difference? .It doesn't make any differenpe, according to the" Auckland Education Board. About the oniy qualification a school needs for^its cpmmittee or board oi management to apply for a change in name is that it is a school of post-primary status. Application for a chgnge ip name is made to the board, which forwards it to the Minister of Education, with whom the decision re§ts. In the board's area thgre have been six colleges for some time---Northcote, Avondale, Matamata, Te AwgmutU, Tauranga and Northland — and the latest addition to the list is the Otahuhu Tpchnical High School, which now becomes i Otahuhu Coilege.
