More Plant For Catchment Board

In June, 1947, the Manawatu Catchment Board agreed to raise a loan of £13,000 for the purchase of machinery. This plant is now mostly to hand and a further loan of £7000 is to be raised to acquire further machinery,. Yesterday's meeting of the board received a. report from the chief engineer (Mr. P. G. The new plant he proposed should consist of a tractor (£540); winch and capstan (£225); 3/8-yard excavator (£3850) ; administrative trucks (£1100); contijigencies (£535) .
