School Cycles Inspected By A.A. Officers
Friday was a busy day at the Otaki State School, coth for pupils and teachers, and for Messrs. Silverwood and Keenan, Wellington Automobile Association - school patrol officer and local patrol ofRcer respeotively. A large. portion of • the day was needed to inspect all the cycles, bqt it was gratifying to find that the standard set last year was being well maintained. There was only one machine that, [was not reported as "in excellent jcondition." Another satisfactory feature disclosed by the irispectioh and. visit of , the patrol officers was that the jbehaviour of school cyclists generally was.vastly improved. Mention I was made of the fact that "marbies I are in," and some pupils were '■inclined to dawdle home, watching !the many games that are in proi'gress. This fact gave cause for a' ! little concern, as the offenders then Ihurried in an endeavour to try and jovertake some of the time lost. 1 The showing of a sound film : entitled "The School Bus" gave jadded educational value to the 'visit. The infants were' not overlooked, and they enjoyed the show- ' ing of a comic strip.
