' AUCKLAND , J uly 18. An offioial inquiry field last week itifo the administration of the Buildmg Contreller 's pffice .in - Auckland, h.as resulted -in the dismissal of one.senior ofneer. Anothe'r officer was dismissed before the inquiry began. The investigations are continuing. . • Answering inquiries, the chairman of the Public Service Commission, Mr. R. M. Campbell, said in Wellington tonight, that it was a fact there liad been administrative irregularitiea _ in the Bnilding Coutroller's office in Auekiaud. Mr. Campbell said these irregulacities had been discoveTed as the result of an inquiry conducted by y two representatives of tlic commission and one representative of the Ministry ot VVorks. As the result of the inquiries, mid Mr. Campbell, arrangements had been made for the future administration of the offiee. It had been decided that Mr. K. Mclntyre, previously with the Public Trustee's office in Auckland, would be temporarily in cliarge of the Building Controller's .office in tlie city as from tomorrow. Mr. Campbell added that tlie inquiries were stil/proceeding before two assistant Public Service Conimissioners, Vir. C. G. B. Ellis, of Auckland, and Mr. J. K. Hunn, of Christchurch, and one representative to the Auckland office.
