Monthly Meeting Of Ohau Women's Division
The July meeting of the Ohau branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers . was hel'd recently, Mrs. J. A. Kilsby presiding. It was reported that 13 parcels had been packed and despatched to a home for incurabies in England. Members were advised that the branch's birthday would be held on August 12 and asked to invite their friends. Also that a bazaar and sale of work was being organised for August 28, with a baking competition and various stalls. It was stated that Mrs. V. G. Hunter, of Kuku, had made a second garment for a Chinese girl, and this had . gone to Christchurch for exhibition. Most enjoyable .recitations were rendered by Mrs. W. Benning. An- instructive talk on small fruit gardening was given by Mr. TMomas, of the Depalrtment of Agriculture. A ! varied and - attractive display bf needlework was, admired by members. Mrs. R. G. Wall and Miss Catley were placed first and second respectively in the best flower competition. Other competitions were won by Mrs. Hudson and Miss Catley. ' The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames A. Crowe, J. Coulson, J. Crowe and R. E. Hogg.
