Captain Chosen For Maori All Blacks
WELLINGTON, Julv 12.; .T. B. tSmitli (North Auckland), AU Black and xnember of the Kiwi Bugby team in England, has been appointed captain of the New Zealand Maori teain which plays Taranaki, xiext tou-rs Fiji and meets Auckland and North Auckland on its return. J. Marriner (King Country) is vice-captain. P. Sxnith, , who was a member of the 1947 AU : Blacks in Australia was injured iu the slioulder last Saturday and is xiot avaitahle for the tour of Fiji. He has been replaced by iH. Delemere (Bav . of Plenty). Mr. W. S. Henderson (Bay*of Plenty), manager of the team, met memb'ers af the management committee of the N.Z.R.U. today and diseussed administrative xna.tters in _ connection with the tour.
