Youth Admonished For Audacious Action
Audacious was the action of a youth who recently entered the house of a resident of Levin, when the owner was absent, cooked himself a meal and helped himself to elothing and money. These facts were revealed in the Juvenile Court on Friday, when the youth was charged with the offence, It was stated that the youth had i 'waited until the resident had gone to work in the morning. He was : 'committed by the magistrate, Mr. : H. J. Thompson, .to the care of the i superintendent oi the ChildWelfare : Department, and an order made for restitution to the resident. i ;■ A further vcharge preferred against the youth was that he -at- ■ tempted to break into another : house at 3 a.m. Disturbed by the i noise of a window being lifted, an 1 elderly women who was the sole i occupant of the house opened her 1 bedroom window and looked out, whereupon the youth had decamp- ; ed. - i In admonish'ing the youth, Mr. : Thompson said that his action in ' trying to break into a hoiise at that n hour of the night was in itself 1 sufficient to frighten an occupier i of her age to ^uch an extent that .the copsequences might have been, 1 more serious, \
