Personal Miss Cordwell, who for some time past has been a nursing aid at the Otaki Sanatorium, is at present enjoying a hoiid>ay in Napier, prior to cOmmenCng her training there. Mr. Ian Morton, son of Mr. an'd Mrs. W. Morton, of Main Street, Otaki, is, at present spending a holiday with his parents. Enjoyable Party Monday, July 5, being the date of her 21st birth'day, friends and coworkers of Miss Valerie Williams, of Miil R6ad, Otaki,- gathered at the home of her mother, Mrs. M. Williams, and tendered the former a surprise party. ' Games were jndulged in and enjoyed by all, after which a 'delicious supper was served and the guest of -the evening s'uitably honoured. A Treat for the Bii'ds A rare treat for thousands of birds was in evidence at Otaki in 'the vicinity of the post office yesterday. Something had apparently happened to the baker's van nearj by as a wide variety of cakes j found their way on to the. road;way. It is not anticipated that any compiaints regarding th^ quality of the fiour will be voiced in this instance, the lucky finders being extremely busy all the morning in tidying up.
