Centennial Of Rangiatea Church

! (To the Editor) . ' Sir, — I think the letter-under the nom-'de-plume of "Huia" in your columns recentiy was most oppor[tune. I sincereiy hope that, we the Maori portion of the residents of the1 borough should 'rise to the occasion, and the Borough Fathers as well. I feel that Otaki will be on the map most prominently in 1949 and 1950 with the visit of the King and Queen and the Rangiatea centennial celebrations. I wish to warn the reading public that no book or books on ,the history of Rangiatea have my authority or that of the church in this diocese. Soon, "however, a booklet shall be produce'd by a committee set up and authorised by the church, giving the history of Rangiatea in short and detailing plans for the centennial celebrations. Yours etc., 1 . PAORA TEMUERA, Priest in Charge, Rangiatea. Otaki, July 6. •
