WELLINGTON, July 6. There was every possibility that the United States would be re-enteriug the New Zealand marlcet as. a wool buyer, said the chairman of the New Zealand Wool Board, Mr. N. R. Jameson, in a statement issued today. Mr. Jameson recently returned from a meeting of the International Wool Secretariat in London. Comnienting on the stocks of Dominions' wool held by tho joiht organisation, he stated it was impossible to say when these would be conipletely dispersed but even considering, the fair proportion of iuferior quality in the original stoekpile, it was lilcely that the joint? orgauisation would be wound up earlier than 1958, the date originally exjjected. While iu Britain Mr. Jameson and Mr. W. W. Ilorrobin, deputy-ehairnian of the board, made special'contact with the manufacturing side of the industry. Manufacturers were coucerned at the incidence of burr in the New Zealand clips and.growers were advised to do their utmost for its control. lle said the shortage of, liner wools from this Dominion was also discussed. It was impossible to give details of the deeisions mad© at ihe meeting of the .executive of the I.W.S. until the respective boards had been givcn an opportunity to contirm the executive 's actions. However, he said further expansion in both the promotion and research fields, was planned.
