Novice Night At Kiwi Boxing Gymnasium
» — A successful night of boxing was held at the Kiwi Gymnasium, Palmerston North= on Saturday oetween members of the Kiwi Club,Hubbard's Gym and visitors from Levin. Ad were in the novice class and although the Levin boxers nad only one . win, all gained experience which should be invaluable in future fights. The" only Levin entrant to win his bout was K. Bibby, who beat T. Ryan (Marist) . The results of the contests were as follows: — Paperweight: R. Tawharu (Hubbard's) 6.10. beat P. Adrian (Levin) 7.7. Fly weight: B. Ross (Kiwi) 7.10 beat A. Rolston (Levin) 7.7.; B. Perry (Kiwi) 6.11 beat M. Boyc6 (Levin) 6.8. Lightweight: A. Rule (Kiwi) 8,11 beat J. Harris (Levin) 8.12.' Welterweight: K. Bibby (Levin) 10.5. beat T. Ryan (Marist) 9.12. Middleweight: _D. Voss (Kiwi) 11.11. beat B. Stratton (Levin) 12. The referees were Messrs L. Wimsett and C. Warne.
