WELLINGTON, June 30. Suggestions that Magistrates be granted discretionary powers when dealing with the eancellation oi licences of drunken drivers, was made at a meeting of the. " The meeting also deeided to recom mend that the Commissioner of Trans port be empowered to cancel the licence of any driver for medicaj reasons including eyesight, for inability to handic a mot-or vehicle, for lack of knowledge of the traffle law, or because of a con sistently bad record either of ac.cidenth or' traffic offences, despite ability to pass the driving test.
