CRUSHED BETWEEN TWO ENGINES

NEW PLYMOUTH, June 20. Crushed between the buff'ers of two locomotives in the Taumarunui railwayvards tonight, Aubrey T'remayne re ceived severe injuries to the abdomeu and pelvis and dic-d shortly afterwards. Aged 35 years, Mr. Tremayne was the manager of tlie Gelp Help Co-op. Ltd., at Taumarunui. He was crossing tio yards with a number of others and tried to pass between two locomotives standing one behind the other. As he was between the buffers another locomotive was shunted on to the same line, met the front "engine and closed the gap, ' crushing him. Tremayne was rushed to Taumarunui Hospital but was beyond aid.
