How Driverless Tram Was Stopped by Conductor

Received Friday, 8.50 p.m. SYDNEY, June 18. A tram^stflien froan near a depot early today was found some time later travelling driverless and at a fair speed through the distant suburb of Maroubra. It was stopped by a tramway conductor, who was picked np by a police patrol car. He leaped from the car the tram footboard as the two vehicles raced side hy side. A similar case occurred six weeks ago and the police and tramway officials fearing a serious accident are seeking those responsible.
