Death Of "Nurse Cavell Of Malaya"

LONDON, June 18. Mrs. Sybil Kathigash, who was awarded tlie George Medal for her w6rk with the Malavan underground during the war and wlio was brought to Britain in 1.945 for treatment of injuries received when she was tortured by the Japanese, has died in the Lanarkshire Hospital. Mrs. Kathigash, who refused to talk even when the Japanese tortured her six-year-old daughter before her eyes, had undergone ten operations and a long course of special treatment since being brought to Britain. She had been described as the "Nurse Cavell of Malaya."
