Suspect In Gangster Murder Arrested
. SYDNEY, Juiie 14. Arrested by dotectives near tlie town eliip of Camden, on the m^in road to Milbourne, Percy Charles Neville, a labourer, aged 32, was charged with the murder of Francis John Beaumont A1 lard. The police were warned that a inan concerned with the murder would be travelling to Melbourne by ear. A patrol car sighted a vehicle, whieh dutectives recognised, proceeding at liigii speed through Camden. After a chase, during whieh the police car • touched over 70 miles au hour, the other car was forced to the roadside and the man was arrested. Detectives have found that the gangster whose battered body was found in a stormwater canal last Thursday was kidnapped outside a pieture theatre in the suburb of .Lideombe the previous uight and "taken for a ride". H.e left his home at 9 p.m. and was wai king along a footpath near the theatre when he was seized by two men and forced into a waiting sedan car. The men thrust him into the back seat besidfc anotlier man,' who was already seated, and the car sped away with his t'eet still protruding through an open rear door. The incident was reported by theatre patrons who were standing outside during the interval.
