WELLINGTON, June 14. A special cardiac clinic is to be set up at Green Lane Hospital for "blue baby" operations. In a cireular to hospital boards the Direc-tor-General of Health (Dr. T. K. Ritchie) states that Dr. Douglas Iiobb is expected to retyrn sliortly from the United States where he has been making himself acquainteci with the tecliuique and other matters c.onneeted with the "blue baby" operatioii. It is the dcsire of the Governuient- that 011 his return Green Lane Hospital should be the centre where operations will lie undertaken on patients from any part of the Dominion. . Dr. Ritchie states tliat the Auckland Hospital Board has approved in principle of the establishment of the cardiac clinic at the hospital and it is hoped to advise boards later of the actual scope of the work at the clinic. He asks boards to make tlie scheme known to -patients' in their districts and to take steps to ennble them to have the benefits of the operation.
