Successful Clearing Sale At Ihakara
A successful clearing sale was conducted at Ihakara yesterday by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., on behalf of the estate of the late Mr. S. A. Broadbelt. Eighty-six head of dairy stock was offered to a large attendance of buyers. Good quality cows in milk and July-August calvers sold well, while weaner heifers of fair quality brought up to £6. There was a particularly keen demand for the farm . implempnts and they realised prices very ; satisfactory to the vendor. j The foliowing is a range of the prices realised for the stock offered: — Cows in milk, £6, £7, £9, i £11 ; July-August calving cows, £14, £16, £16 10s, £17 10s, £18, £19, £20, £21, £26 10s; three-quarter and late calving cows, £7, £8, £9, £11 10s, £13; heifers, r.w.b., £8 15s; yearling heifers, £6 12's; weaner heifers, £4 to £6; three-year Jersey bulls, £7; aged geldings, £14 and £16; sows to farrow, £6 5s. ! Included ln the implement prices iwere the foliowing: — Skim milk £20; 25-gallon electric heater, £16 10s; hay mower, £21; model A truck, £106 10s; saw rnench, £17 10s; manure distribu.tor, £23; U-C drill, £30.
