Hockey Association Meets
The monthly . meeting of the Horowhenua Hockey Association was heM in Otaki last week, Mr. L... V. Trass occupying the chair. The Manawatu Women's Hockey Association wrote asking for a match with the A representatives on July 17. It was decided that owing ro the fact that the association had been formed only a shorl time, it could not 'see its way clear to send a team to Palmerston North this year. The hope was expressed, however, that the association wouj.d be in a position to accept a match next season. A representative match will be played later in the season with Ran'gitike. (ladies) and Feilding (men). Unfortunately, the Foxton Borough Council has no ground available on which hockey could be played. This means that the two teams formed there will have to travei every Saturday. : The association will shortly consider the hoiding of an umpires' ; examlnation early in the. next 'season. I Clubs are reminded that in the championships the ladies' teams will play two rounds and the men's : teams four. •| Those present at the meeting J were: MisSes Jacobs and Kingi, and ■; Messrs. Cheesman, V. J. Cottle, •.Welby, P. Baker and L. V. Trass. b;Apologies were received from .• Messrs. Mosen and K. Spiers.
