Levin figures for thp local drive for the United Nations Appeal for the . children of Europp reachp'd £852 this morning. There are Still a number of -returns to come in and some organisations assisting have yet to start the cqlleGtion. The Mayor, Mr. 'H. B. Burdekin, said today that he was coniident that Levin would attain its minimum quota of £1000, if not exceed it. Every penny was wanteff. for Europe's destitute and hungry children, an'd he wouid appreciate it if any perspn who had beep missed on the local drive would hand their donations to the local treasurer, Mr. H. L, Jenkins, at the borough offices. Voluntaty donations from business ffims would also b.e greatly appreciated.
